What can one say about a place that feels like home. I have stayed at the BB three times this past summer and each stay was just as memorable as the first. So far, I’ve tried 3 rooms and they are all very nice. Kathy and Pam are just fantastic hostesses as well as having become one of my best friends. Our family stayed at the B&B twice this summer while we were painting our grandparents home in Embarrass and had a great time. It was so nice to come and relax and then to have an authentic Finnish sauna at the end of the day, what a treat. The food was also great and was a nice surprise each morning wondering what kind of goodies Kathy would cook up and Pam has been getting her hands involved in the cooking also. Great place to relax. We are having our annual ladies weekend from now on at the B&B.

This has become our home away from home when we head North. We have always experienced the best food, wonderful visits with Kathy & Pam (just like family now!), and the soundest sleep! We come home renewed and refreshed! It’s also been a
great place for our annual Sister Retreat.” We will always be planning another return to the Northern Comfort!

Staying at Northern Comfort is always one of the highlights of our Trip home each year to visit family. Pam and Kathy are very welcoming and considerate hostesses. The breakfast is amazing every time! Kathy even gave us some of her home made dog treats for our dog, and they were apparently delicious too!

We love to snowmobile, and it was so fun to stay at Northern Comfort last winter. After our great breakfast of blueberry stuffed French toast and lots of good coffee, we put on our snowmobile suits, walked out the front door, and got on our sleds. We took the long way to Ely, had a delicious lunch, and then rode the snowmobile over to Lake Vermilion to visit friends. When we got home later that evening, we had a glass of wine with Kathy and Pam, and then took a fabulous hot sauna. On Sunday, we started over! Our next trip involved bringing a whole family of friends and our four-wheeler. We picked raspberries, went riding, had a bonfire, and then all jumped in the sauna after that. The whole weekend was great fun, and we highly recommend this place to everyone.

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at Northern Comfort. We slept so well in our room that we almost missed the huge breakfast we look forward to each trip. This was our first trip during the winter, so we took advantage of the great cross-country skiing in the area, as well as the sleigh rides in nearby Aurora. The sauna was a perfect place to relax and unwind from all our activities, and it was great to spend some down time in the evenings over a couple of glasses of wine. Pam and Kathy are such wonderful hosts, it feels like we’re staying with family (minus the family drama). We are so thankful to have found such a great spot to forget about our worries in the city – and we look forward to coming back in the spring!
