Things to Do & See on the Homestead

Enjoy a peaceful place to stay amid the historical richness fo the Finnish heritage present at the Northern Comfort Bed & Breakfast. On-site you will find the following activities:

• Sleep in, or take a breather in our comfortable common areas. We provide to our guests wireless Internet, books, DVDs, games, puzzles, and magazines.
• Take a stroll through our grounds and admire the historic on-site buildings that were built at the turn of the century. Spot wildlife such as deer, moose, and bald eagles, or go bird watching.
• Take a traditional Finnish Sauna ($15) to ease your mind and body.
• Coming in 2011, the Mesabi Bike Trail will pass through Embarrass, MN. Download Bike Trail Map
• In the winter, we provide snowshoes and cross country skis for you to get some exercise and explore!
• Find direct access to over 1,000 miles of groomed snowmobile trails on the Taconite State Trail where it runs along the west boundary of our farm. Download Snowmobile Trail Map
• Head into one of the nearby towns for other activities and seasonal fun!

You will soon find a gift shop on-site in our historic barn. Watch as Kathy creates handmade candles, and find antiques as well as other local artisans’ treasures including pottery, bath and body products, and souveniers.
